YardTag methodology

How YardTag scores the sale

YardTag compares three lanes: fast clear-out, balanced tags, and value-hold. Each lane reacts differently to sale goal, item mix, condition, traffic, signage, helpers, bundle depth, weather backup, and markdown pressure.

The three lanes

  • Fast clear-out rises when the goal is speed, bundle potential is strong, haggling room is high, and the sale must clear quickly.
  • Balanced tags rises when the sale has mixed priorities, clearer signage, enough float, enough helpers, and a sensible middle ground between margin and movement.
  • Value-hold rises when standout items deserve protection, signage is polished, digital payment options are ready, and there is less pressure to dump everything immediately.

Sale readiness

A separate readiness score measures whether the operation itself is ready to open cleanly. Float, signage, helpers, weather backup, payment setup, and bundle readiness all affect that score.

The recommendation is a practical posture, not a promise of exact resale value.
